More updates whoa!!!!
- Sighting's album was really cool, enough audible instrumentation to sort of put it under noise rock, but everything was blown out and distorted and most of the lines between the instruments were blurred, yet it occasionally got groovy as hell
- of the EPs, I enjoyed all of them but none really caught my attention a whole lot, Rita/WJ's EP had some damn good rumbly textures though
- Bermuda Drain and Time's Arrow were both enjoyable listens, he still managed to keep the dark atmosphere but I do prefer his noise output
- Wigmaker was fantastic, a bit exhausting at almost two hours but really creative stuff, haven't heard a noise album like it before; the ridiculously dense, choppy, vocal-heavy production was definitely something else

So I've been playing around with a cassette mixer/recorder and some pedals recently and ended up recording some stuff - I don't know if a full project is gonna come out of this or not but I'm already kinda proud of what I'm coming up with so I figured I'd make a soundcloud:

https://soundcloud.com/vorpilatus

Also I've gotten behind, starting today I'm gonna try and listen to exclusively noise until I'm caught up, starting back at Soft Punk

I've had We Spit On Their Graves downloaded for a while now, been meaning to set one day aside to get around to it. I've listened to Claustration while studying and doing homework, though - works really well for that, but I don't know if I could get through the whole thing just for the music

Shit, I fell off the wagon - gonna try and listen to a week's worth of noise in one or two nights to catch up, starting back at Soft Punk

I might be helping soon with the OC thing! My dad had a cassette recorder/mixer laying around that he let me use, so I've been messing with cassettes recently and getting some neat stuff, probably gonna post some of the stuff I'm doing on a soundcloud - want to start messing with tape loops soon too

word

It's not strictly noise, but I've been interested to dig more into Nurse With Wound's stuff for a while, so I'm excited to listen to this one-oh god are those chewing sounds no why

I saw someone in the archive ask what I thought about the Lescalleet album and I missed it, so here was my underwhelming review from a previous thread:
>Much to My Demise was pretty interesting too - a lot more mellow and atmospheric than I was expecting (the first track was actually melodic????) but I definitely enjoyed it, nothing like that warm fuzz of tape loops

Heyo

Finishing up C.C.C.C. right now - it's pretty good, definitely some interesting textures, plus I like the occasional bit where a barely recognizable sample comes up out of the mass (I think those were seagulls?) before being swallowed back into it. The production feels a little muddy, though, like it was recorded from a live performance; I can dig it, but I do prefer my textures crispier

Oh hey that was me - not a problem, glad you enjoyed it!

Updates:

While You Were Out didn't QUITE live up to the hype for me, but it is still one of the better noise albums I've heard - crazy stuff, and the destroyed pop samples really lightened the atmosphere of the whole thing and made it feel more fun crazy

I listened to a tiny bit of High Tones before and didn't remember enjoying it all that much, but I liked it a lot more this time - I'm still pretty much clueless as to what EAI is, but I'm finding myself really enjoying the slow-moving noise that takes time to evolve and build on itself. I liked the quieter vibe from it, too, gave the assorted textures and sampling more room to breathe

Ottoman Black is still one of my favorites (if not my favorite) noise album, so I'm looking forward to finally hearing more from him

>>51977655
Totem is definitely my AOTY, I love how they manage to bring in elements of actual noise to noise rock, the unsettling ambiance they have in some of their tracks really works well for the overall impact

I really enjoyed Innocence but I don't remember that album much, was it similar?

Also, finally going to listen to While You Were Out tonight, heard almost nothing but praise for it so I'm pretty damn excited

Much to My Demise was pretty interesting too - a lot more mellow and atmospheric than I was expecting (the first track was actually melodic????) but I definitely enjoyed it, nothing like that warm fuzz of tape loops

Mentioned this in the last thread, but it was almost dead so -
Leichenlinie was really great, easily moved its way into my favorites - great atmosphere, the industrial throbbing topped with sparse noise was really unsettling and fantastic
Cardiac Strain was really nice too, I didn't quite give it enough attention for it all to sink in but I loved the amount of variety he managed to pull out of the source sounds, good stuff

As for today, been wanting to hear more of Lescalleet - I wanted to listen to something completely new today, but I need to give Songs About Nothing another listen so I'll probably do that too

>>51904550
Some good stuff on there, are you listening to all new albums?

And here's this again - gonna start Leichenlinie in a few minutes here. Really excited, heard great things about this one

I'm still listening to ~music~ music this month, but I'm keeping the one new noise album a day

Listened to Nang Nak last night, a bit wall-y for my taste but I still really enjoyed it - really nice textures, walls of deliciously crunchy static with enough subtle changes to keep things interesting

Pretty excited for Venereology, haven't heard much of Merzbow but this release seems like it'd be something I dig

Just finalized my chart yesterday, swapped out the previous Lescalleet album for a noisier one - probably going to listen to Nang Nak later tonight

Also I managed to find one download of a record I got recently on slsk - managed to get three tracks downloaded and the rest have been stuck at queued since then, might just rip the album myself when I go home for break in a few weeks
