I'm at work all week so by the time Sunday afternoon comes around I can't fucking wait to sit down and /prod/. Sometimes I just sit and mess about making samples. Sometimes I'll mess about with a synth. Sometimes I'll make a shitty loop and put it through my effects units. Sometimes I'll write a track. If I'm not inspired to write a track I usually do one of the other things I mentioned.
Making your own samples is very inspiring I find, I've literally spent the last few months making samples and tonight I've gone through them and loaded some of the ones I'd like to work with tomorrow into my sampler ready to go.
As anon mentioned if you really have no inspiration to do any of that then try doing some other things that might inspire you. I usually go for a big walk with my dog Sunday morning or go mountain biking, I find exercise really help me get motivated and clears my head, I usually take my recorder with me and get a few field samples on the way too. I guess listening to different music might inspire you too?

Yes not uploaded to it for a while though, needs an update soon. Mostly use it to share nothing more than little ideas and WIPs with friends

Hey /prod/

I'm looking for a new controller, I'm not too bothered about wether or not it has keys or pads as long as it has some way of triggering hardware (midi) and vsti's. Most importantly I want to use it for making dub music so it needs to be able to have enough knobs to control the software mixer in my DAW (Logic) EQs, Aux, pan etc along with sliders for the volume and mute and solo buttons. Ideally it would also be able to control VST plugins too.

Only thing I can seem to find that might fit the bill is the Akai MPD32. Would this be a good choice or is there something more suited to my needs?

Not Reall I moved that huge stack of paper out the way a few days ago as this desk doubles as my office for work. Today I moved my coffee mug to the kettle to make a brew. I like to keep my surface clutter free as much as possible, kinda feels like I need to have a clear space as I'm starting a new project. It's quite often not this tidy though!
