holy shit march is tomorrow

Get hype for Sonny Sharrock and Borbetomagus. Both should be quite the experience.

Reposting my schedule for March bc why not

>>53837010
I browse RYM a lot and wishlist anything that interests me, I take recs, I list albums of artists I already know but want to explore further, I explicitly search for stuff from a certain country/genre on the RYM charts, etc. I mostly use RYM a lot to determine what to put on my chart. If you want to make chart yourself, I suggest you start off by trying to dedicate certain weeks or days of the week to certain themes, so you know what to look for and end up with a diverse chart. You can also always ask for recs in here, if you specify what you like we can usually help you out with some sweet recs.

I haven't explored any avant-prog scene in particular, I'm just not in the mood for prog often enough, but the songs from canterbury bands generally just sound more promising. They definitely sound more experimental than yr average prog, but they still keep a certain accessibility from what I'm gathering. RIO is just something I don't think I'd be able to get into anytime soon (maybe if I have listened to enough canterbury stuff? idk)

Eitherway, stuff like Soft Machine, National Health and Caravan sounds like stuff I could definitely get into. Soft Machine's on my schedule for next month so if I like that enough I might dig further into the genre.

Reboasting my March schedule again

>>53682278
Why is Hospice still /mu/core? Barely anyone talks about it anymore and it's a bad album for people who mistake boredom for sadness anyway. Same goes for LYSF except that album is actually good. Kanye needs to disappear but people talk about him so I guess that one still makes sense. Idk if I agree with two Radiohead albums on /mu/core.

Oh well, I guess it can't be helped that 90% of /mu/ still is unironically pleb.

>>53682076
Try to absorb all of the "essential albums", not all of them are as worthwhile, but most people have heard them around here so you can easily discuss them on /mu/ and ask for similar albums if you liked them. Also try following sites like Pitchfork to stay up-to-date on new releases (I think they're kinda bad but it works for when you're new to music). Most of all, have fun! There's a lot of amazing music to explore, so jump right into it!

Reboasting March chart. Jazz!

So are you deliberately trying to fuck yourself over?

Anyway for that soft noise bs (why no harsh noise? WHY???) you could also try Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - Love Is a Stream. I know it's already filled up and all but eh. Since when is Drumm making soft noise anyway

>>53657521
Lotsa great shit on your chart. Fuck Violent Femmes though, don't look forward to that.

Gonna pretty it up a little later but this is what I have for March right now. Jazz month baby, with lots of free and avant-garde stuff because these are objectively the best kinds of jazz. And yes, that's right, many days will feature TWO records. I tried to go by general themes to order the albums and stuff, but mostly I just made sure everything that really interests me in the world of jazz is in there. This chart looks tougher than my noise chart tbh. Wish me luck.
