>Mount Eerie - The Microphones
This album was an incredibly unique experience and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Right from the start the album opened up with an ambient, foggy, percussion-based piece that I immediately became entranced in. It was something that I couldn't turn my ear from, I was just drawn in and I wasn't even aware I was until the spell was broken with a sudden (yet completely natural) transition into a quiet blues-like vocal thing that seemed to meander around in a carefree, organic manner. Throughout the whole album, I was given a very minimalist, and damp impression. It reminds me of a vacation I took a few years back to a log cabin in the smokey mountains during the wet summer months. I give this album a 9.1/10, it was incredibly refreshing to listen to.
