try some spectral composers, the idea of spectralism is to use spectrograms to enable composing with more attention to textures. also there's some great minimalist drone that is very textural stuff, rec'ing Tony Conrad, check out Early Minimalism Vol.1 (the first disc is low fi as its from the 60s, but the rest are very hi fi recordings) and Slapping Pythagoras. also electronic music is often very focused on textures, Stockhausen's Kontackt comes to mind as a very textural work, but there are many other very textural electronic works.
