If I were you I wouldn't bother with my opinion that my favorite XTC album is Go 2, it's simply my preference. Drums & Wires is objectively the better of the two.

In my eyes, Go 2 is the transition album between when XTC was a punk-ish pop band (White Music) to full blown new wave (D&W). I really like mix of the two and it's part of what makes Go 2 the album I most enjoy when I get into an XTC kick.

I'd say their best is between D&W and English Settlement. However, Go 2 and The Big Express are probably the two most criminally underrated albums in their discography.

Uh huh. Though I can tell you from experience the UK Virgin pressings of XTC albums are much nicer than the US pressings, especially English Settlement.

I'd say that them "coming into their own" started with Go 2. Though they became a much better pop band starting with Black Sea.
