this is the only thing that's come close to making me cry and i don't know how it does it, because there are many albums that i've listened to that are technically bleaker and more depressing, but it's like this one just pulls at something.

i'd also recommend the later coil albums

What are you supposed to do when listening to drone? This two hour long obesity of an album just does not warrant 2 and a half hours of undivided attention. Real music listeners don't do anything but stare into space or close their eyes when they listen to music, but this music is too boring to do so, as I would start to crave mental stimulation due to my lack of it (otherwise known as boredom). That is how I imagine this album is a gigantic hamplanet trying to make it's way across a long distance. It moves slowly and painfully and when it's done it's out of breath and totally tired.
