It was a tough call for week's best, between this and grouper. Grouper had an excellent atmosphere, and Leven Signs had excellent instrumentation and a beautifully varied sound. Both seemed to focus on these aspects so much though, that they failed to create an exciting listening experience. I imagine for a musician, someone who really revels in odd sounds and composition, leven signs is the clear winner. However, I had a more enjoyable time listening to grouper, though they are very much style over substance. I may relisten to hemp is here, i'll have to be in the right mood.
Low Road by Okay wins month's best (high road was also listened to that day, and was pictured alone to fit the faces week theme). as written on the calendar, anyone interested in Okay should hear huggable dust first, then low road. Neither low road or high road matched huggable dust, but low road has some good songs. "We" in particular stood out to me.
