>Burkhard Stangl & Taku Sugimoto - An Old Fashioned Duet
This album consists of 4 pieces. All of them are concentrated on the duet between 2 acoustic guitars. The thing is it's an onkyo album so an acoustic guitar duet is probably not what you imagine this to sound like.
What I like about both of the performers is that they employ guitar to the absolute fullest in terms of sound. They use it's acoustic properties to get the most out of it. My problem is that it is not as engaging. I mean my experience with Sugimoto is limited to the tracks from Improvised Music From Japan, Quartet and Opposite. The latter was the most engaging Sugimoto release whose guitar playing is incredibly implosive. You can definitely see it on this album too but it's just not that enjoyable.
It is definitely great in terms of sound but not as engaging as I would like. I still enjoyed it.
