I mean obviously he didn't write any of his own music, which automatically makes him less deserving of respect... but I think he laid his claim as a great singer / frontman. Kind of like Jim Morrison. And he's a pretty well-respected guy.

What are some good albums from the 50's that still sound good today? Preferably not just a compilation one or two good singles but an actual solid body of work that's stood the test of time.
