Prod wtf is going on. My monitors have output even though the monitor volume on my audio interface is at 0, at which they're usually silent. This just started 5 minutes ago, I'm panicking.

So basically where do I get started with jazz? This probably will piss 90% of you off but after seeing Whiplash I really liked what I heard and it has pushed me to finally get into such an intimidating genre.

When I get into a genre I generally and autistically have to start with its origins and work my way up but with jazz there's such a huge history and different sub-genres that I don't feel that would be optimal.

Any advice? Perhaps even what style of jazz was the one that was played in the movie?
