Actually the Launchpad S is $150, but the Launchpad Mini is a smaller version of that and its $99. If you use ableton live, you could get a script that allows for most of the Launchpad Pro's functionality sans RGB pads and velocity pads. FL Studio can enable similar function on the Launchpad natively, but functionality for other DAWs remain to be seen. On a side note, the original Launchpad, which is the size of the Launchpad S, can be had for as much as the Launchpad Mini ($99), albeit without the brighter lights and MIDI Class Compliance of the Launchpad Mini and S.
