The guitar teacher I has when I was 14 was a big fan of RHCP. He used to make me learn their songs all the time. When he asked if I knew them I said "No" and he'd always look at me like I was some zero-taste having kid that didn't know a damn thing about guitar when all I wanted to learn was Pixies and Pavement songs. I felt bad at the time but now I know he was a pleb.
So I'm going to say my immediate preconceptions are a middle aged man who has a ponytail, still dresses like it's the 80s and interrupts expensive guitar lessons to organise shows for his dadrock cover-band.
