Why is this one of the more widely-cited examples of avant-jazz? I don't think it sounds much like "the old stuff", but I certainly don't think it's as out there as, say, late Miles.
I'm thinking of starting a restaurant that plays post-1960 jazz that sells grinders called "A Lunch Supreme". It's like a highbrow-lowbrow thing.
