Released by Zorn's Avan label this is what I believe to be the first official studio recording from Haino led free-improv noise rock giants. I didn't like it. I thought it was all over the place with pretty much all the tracks being really boring. There were moments of clarity sometimes and it sort of sounded like a krautrock-style jam but it was very unsatisfying.
And then there is Magic IX which is actually pretty good and more reminiscent of their undeniably beautiful live chaos. It's good but subdued.
Listening to this is like watching a demonic lion in a cage. They are so much better than this.
