First of all: the gorgeous cover of that album is a detail of one of the mad photomontages of Kimura Tsunehisa, and I do recommend you check the rest of his work.
Now the album itself, well…
I can't really say I liked it.
Let's do a little comparison here, just to make things clear.
Picture a cake. A big,tasty-looking cake. You're looking at it, drooling, hungry and ready for the sweet taste, the soft sugarcoating, the moist insides, etc. The first bite is excellet. The second is sweet. After that, you start to be a little tired, you are sick of all the sugar, you are already not hungry anymore, and you can't even finish your slice that you now realize is way bigger than you could have eaten at the moment.
That's this album. The first track is neat and all, the second also flows but past that point, you've had your shares of processed/effect-heavy backing choirs and tenor/falsetto variations, you've had enough of the rotating synths and such. Whch si a shame because the basics of that album could be good. But it falls into one of the usual problems of today's indietronica/indie dance music/whatever yo uwant to call it: it wants to be ambitious (which is a good thing) but forgets to learn from the past: other than the economical ones, there are reasons why dance-oriented electronic music ofte nsticked to singles and Eps: due to how repetitive it is, it cannot stand a long, grouped listen. Neither can this.
Which is a shame because the band does know how to build a climax or create a nice, colorful groove, but goddamn, the loud layers of vocals are just too much for something that long.

Doc Warhol wins, but Hasture fought to death. Well done, gentlemen.
