vaporwave is pretty cool

broporwave shitters make me feel bad cuz they kinda appropriated the genre and made it worse as a whole in the process, even tho you cant blame them for latching onto a popular e-genre where some of its biggest releases could easily be taken as formulaic (eccojams and floral shoppe of course were anything but that but they were easy to imitate)

vaporwave leans heavily on the aesthetic i agree yet doing your own thing and making original compositions is something way more commendable than copying shit over and over again ad fr**king nauseam

im really glad that i kinda was able to be part of vaporwave discussion on /mu/ in vaporwave's 'glory days' (in hindsight it was a lot of shitflinging but hey)
vaporwave really hasn't been anything else than a rym tag and general threads (ofc also a subleddit but ugh)

one of the worst things is how easy it is to viral your shitty bandcamp release and also succeed in doing that, sneak in your diamond dozen album on a big 'essentials chart' .jpg and you're set, spamming links (in a subtle manner or quite bluntly) is also a good way to market yourself to plebs who lap up hit music

special shout outs to big league shitters who, after jumping on the vaporwave bandwagon, labelled their slowed down and sidechained abortions as 'future funk' and go on their merry way to this day

it's been quite sum years since broporwave started poisoning vaporwave discussion and people are still enabling broporwave artists
it's ok if you like the music, nobody should tell you not to like something; but the biggest flaw in your enjoyment of something that is actually shit is that you enable the shit artists
we wouldn't be discussing whether broporwave is shit or not right now (spoiler: it's shit) if the main perpetrators would be starved of attention, they'd stop self-promoting if they knew that no one would want them here

Its long since been decided, you're just too new to know. The whole point of the name broporwave is to show the parallels between dubstep and *bro*step, and vaporwave and broporwave. Brostep was a lazy boiled down formula for making boring generic dubstep that caught popularity, killing other dubstep and becoming a craze among almost every new producer in the genre to latch on to in the hopes of fame. Broporwave is the exact same thing, only transplanted onto vaporwave.

Basically its the lazy derivative trash of "2nd-wave" vaporwave. Disco songs slowed down in audacity, essentially. Also see pic related, although I'm pretty sure its a joke
