Now I'm upset. I mostly listen to rock music, like post-punk, krautrock, psychedelic rock from the late 60s, 'progressive rock', all that shit. But this thread is starting to make me think that I'm listening to inferior music or something, or that all the albums that I love can be beat out by a single symphony or something.

I don't get it: is rock music not art or something? It's simpler for sure, but I don't see why that makes it worse or less of an art form than classical.

Is my life a lie? Have I been enjoying something that's just commercialized garbage to you? I'm scared, what's going on...

btw I just listened to my first classical piece like an hour ago, the Clarinet Quintet in B minor by Brahms. It was gr8, but I'm still not seeing why my simple rock music an't live side by side peacefully with grand classical masterpieces.
