I wish your high school experience was better. I've never seen or experienced bullying myself. Maybe American high schools work differently (idk)?
Sex isn't really a big deal. Personally, I tried to get my first time as quickly as possible (luckily with a girl who was pretty attractive) and after that I've become more selective with whom I have sex. Sex in general can be a great way to boost your confidence, so I do actually suggest you work at yourself to be more desirable by the opposite sex.
I think it's good that you're trying to pursue your own goals, but you might want consider the fact that dating/meeting people/meeting girls is harder when you get older. And by that time you might not have the skills needed to meet a girl/woman, so you should keep up with it and try it anyway.
