As I find myself getting more and more into this whole black metal thing, this one was a bit disorienting.
I'll get right down to it. This sounds lo-fi as fuck. Like, lo-fi to the point where it sorta sounds like what would happen if pre-Far Side Virtual James Ferraro made a black metal album.
For the most part, this is not a bad thing. The whole thing has a sort of fog over it. It gets pretty hypnotizing at times, and and sort of becomes straight ambient in parts, punctuated by slight shifts in the sonic structure of the blaring guitars mixed with the screeched vocals and the slight, sometimes almost non-existent percussion.
This didn't totally click, this being my first listen. However, I think if I listen to it again, it will make a lot more sense to me, since I was almost there the first time. I'll give this a slightly conservative rating for now. 7.7/10.
