Panda's lyrics aren't bad, they're just more straight forward than a lot of bands who make music as esoteric as him. There's nothing wrong with plainly speaking your mind within the context of a song. Flowering wording and metaphors are undoubtably enjoyable aspects of songwriting, but they aren't a necessity.
