Listen to some jazz, it's a really nice contrast to the fast paces of hip hop and will help give it more context. I first listened to jazz to give myself a break after listening to nothing but hip hop for like a couple of weeks and it was a really nice palet cleanser, as well as being a genre I often come back to now.

Help me, /mu/.

I'm starting to get a grip on jazz and pic related (my current favorite), Dave Brubeck's "Time Out" and Davis's "Kind of Blue", while amazing, are starting to get sort of boring and shallow to me.

On the other hand, I tried listening to "A Love Supreme" and "Space is the Place" and felt too overwhelmed by the experimentation. I think I'm not prepared for that kind of sound yet.

What album is a good middle ground between babby's first jazz albums and the more avant-garde and experimental stuff?

Just copped this on vinyl 2 days ago. Love this album and some alcohol makes the lonsome night pretty okay.
