i would rather talk about what billy corgan has said recently on the topic, that rock music has now matured and its time for rock musicians to start addressing the harder topic, of god. to an extent i agree with him, also the best musicans have always been about god to a degree. jimi hendrix regarded his shows as electric church. John Fruciante, since he has gotten healthier, his music is increasingly about god. Omar Rodrigeuz Lopez regards what he does and what great musicians do as communicating with god. I dont think christian rock is really much good, but i do wish that there was more of this sort of thing going on, music that addresses things bigger than the people making and hearing it.

I had all this shit typed out for this thread but if fucked up and I'm on my tablet dant don't want to retype it. Can we just have a broad general discussion about music in the context of larger society? I think sometimes that popular music should address I'm portant issues because it is in someways political anyway as every etiertainer is sort of either distracting people or saying that things are good with happy music or that they are bad with darker music. Idk I thought of a better way to explai n this before and can't remember. Also the post internet era, how should music address it? What are ur views on any of this even if it only vaguely related? Sorry for sounding like a middle schooler if it comes off that way
