Basically, my way of judging whether I like music or not is based off of whether it gives me chills (feels) or not. I don't know if it's a kind of thing that everybody has, but I feel rather out of the music if I'm not getting chills from it, but there are times when I can't get chills from songs that gave me them before. Does anybody know what I mean?, or... I dunno, it may just be a stupid thing that I'm overthinking. Mostly curious if not being able to get chills for a time would impair my listening of an album I hadn't listened to before, because if I can't get them I've basically just been deciding that I shouldn't listen to music, even if I'd like to.

Thinking and possibly overthinking this has also made me curious: how do you exactly define how you experience music or why you like something? Is it just one of those things that can't be easily defined? I'm sure this type of discussion's been brought up before, but I'd like to know anyways.

I like rap/hip hop a whole lot but its like a secondary genre to me. I don't really have much taste in it and have only gotten into it over the past year and a half. I want to build a PC so I can play games comfortably and keep not having friends. But, I also want a Mac so I can make pieces on Mac-only DAWs that I'm comfortable with. While I do have access to Mac labs at my Uni, it won't be forever, and it's a hefty walk+bus ride away. So at this point I'm paying mostly for convenience.

Any caveats before I start looking for hardware? I remember hearing something about software/hardware compatibility. Anything you guys have to say would be greatly appreciated.
