The key failings of this album are (1) its textures are thick and unsubtle and (2) it is laden with beats. In short, it's too intrusive to be truly ambient - unlike Eno's 'On Land', Biosphere's 'Sunstrata', Thomas Koner's 'Nuuk' or John Foxx' 'Cathedral Oceans'.
However, if you like the contradiction in terms that is ambient house, you'll probably think this is the best chill out album ever...but then you probably never heard any true ambient music...
