Here's what's true:

>The Magic Band was kept in a single house for six months subsisting off of rice, lentils and water
>For those six months they spent their entire time rehearsing the album which Don demanded total mastery of
>(Possibly untrue) Don sneaked LSD into some of the Magic Band's food and water because he's a crazy motherfucker
>The album was recorded in a single take which completely baffled Frank Zappa who was there to help record. Don had them play it once and just "That's the one."
>It's extremely choreographed and almost everything about the album is deliberate; that said there are a few gaffs but nobody outside of the Magic Band and Don would be able say for certain what's a mistake and what's intentional

It's a really good album, don't let it's reputation get ahead of it though.
