Not that guy, but I was under the impression JCA stuff was more American voiced than British, being that the preamp designs are loosely based on pre-existing Soldano amplifiers.

Adam Jones was using a JMP on that album if I remember correctly. He loves VH-4s as well, but not sure if he had one at that stage.

Maybe go try out some of the classic Marshall amplifiers like a JMP, and JCM800. It's worth trying a 5150/6505 as well, but they're built with balls-to-the-wall in mind. They're more versatile than people give them credit for though.

Is worth noting, you'd probably need a different cabinet. A 5150 or a JCM800 2204 will output too much power for a 1x12 extension cab.

DSLs are typically paired with 1960AV and BV cabinets, which are closed backs. As such the amp is voiced with closed back cabinets in mind. That's it really.

This is the tone I'm using on the demo I'm currently working on. This is just the guitar tracks isolated.

It thickens up about halfway through. Hope you enjoy.

Look at late 90s Ibanez RG7621 and RG7641. If you want a floating bridge RG7620 or RG1527. Others to look at are 1997 Ibanez UV7BK (Universe silver dot), and the first run of Ibanez K-7 if you can get over the inlay.

By far the best bang for your buck.
