:zoviet*france - Mohnomishe

Really impressive, especially considering it was made in 1983. An early industrial album with a constant ominous vibe about it. While the mechanical clattering and clanking, as well as the pulsating beats (see track 6 in particular) clearly show the industrial influences on this album, its overall mood and atmosphere (reminiscent of Eraserhead imo), as well as the lack of "real" songwriting places it firmly under the dark ambient moniker. What they did to produce these sounds remains a mystery to me, it sounds unlike anything else I've heard from the 80s, but I know it sounds good. A little downfall is that stuff tends to blend in, which is a common problem with ambient music, but overall this is good stuff. 7/10

Joe McPhee - Nation Time

I can't write much interesting about jazz after having listened to an album only once but basically, this is good. 7/10

Somedumb finishes with an average score of about 6.79! Can theSound beat him?

So an artist can be an absolutely amazingly skilled player but play stuff that sounds like absolute wank, and yet he'd be a good artist because he's good at playing his instrument? Don't you feel like enjoying music because of the technical skill of the artist rather than his abilitied to compose engaging and innovative music is a very hollow way of enjoying music? I find your idea of what's aesthetically pleasing somewhat dubious at the very least, for isn't art about expression and interpretation? Art, at the end of the day, is a subjective affair if you ask me, it's about much more than the technical abilities of the artist and the amount of hours he practices every day.
