What can you say? It's the problem with letting non-musicologists update music articles on a public encyclopedia.

That's why pic related is a much better source for music info than Wikipedia.

If it happens fairly soon, then you will be able to write back fairly soon. Until then, referring to "the restricting sound of an orchestra" as in >>39445100 is silly when a synthesizer can't even satisfactorily replicate the sound of an orchestra in real time. Calling one or the other "restrictive" is like saying a violin is "restrictive" because it can't make a tuba sound and vice versa. Silliness.

To say nothing of all the music which blends electronic and acoustic or otherwise non-electronic methods of sound production... just think for a second of how illogical it would be for those composers to incorporate acoustic instruments unless those composers consciously recognized the limitations of purely electronic music technology.

Nah man, don't say that. Just start downloading and listening to those pieces at random, and if you like something listen to the other pieces from that torrent, and if you like those too then get the adjacent torrents. An anon earlier itt posted another long list too with completely different suggestions from mine. The hardest part is starting out but once you do it never stops getting easier and more rewarding.

I've never seen a music documentary and afterward felt like I'd learned much of anything. That one you posted was sort of worthwhile, but only because of the interview segments. I'd have liked more of them and way less of the voice over narration.

Frankly I'd almost always rather read a book than watch a music documentary. Although for the record I've only seen bits of Ken Burns' Jazz so for all I know it's really good.

Best $85 I've ever spent.

(I didn't take a picture because lazy, since my set is exactly the same excepts it's the 1980 printing with the blue hardcover instead of this brown one.)

All right, here's one to make any patricians out there lose instantly.

I didn't take this picture, but last week I bought a complete hardback set of the 1980 edition for just $85 (retail price was probably about $2300). I'm still in disbelief over my good fortune.
