>A Grand Don't Come For Free - The Streets
When I started this album I thought this was a joke someone was playing on me. I seriously thought so, the rapper sounded like a british wannabe-gangster schoolboy. But then as the album progressed I realized how wrong I was, because this has got to be one of the most honest and beautiful rap albums I've heard. This rapper doesn't spend his time showing off or trying to act tough, instead he crafts a story that thoroughly keeps you engaged and feeling every emotion his character in the story is feeling. His sincere rapping style works quite well for him and what he's trying to do. On top of all that, there was no song on "A Grand Don't Come For Free" that felt out of place, yet at the same time there's a variety that keeps you interested throughout the whole thing. I give this album a 9.3/10. It's a thoroughly solid album that never ceased to be entertaining.
Thus concludes concept album week, now I gotta listen to today's album.
