What is so wrong with thinking Death Grips is better than other hip hop out there? I've listened to a somewhat wide variety of it, and I get it from a lyrical standpoint. If you want storytelling, if you want something more cohesive or something that actually has flow I won't complain.
But these fucking beats, the underlying instrumentals are so fucking boring in normal hip hop, why is it so controversial to say that DG does it better? What is so appealing about these boring fucking beats? Even something that is generally loved around here like Good Kid Maad City, what are these beats? They bore me to tears. And I'm an edgy 14 year old for saying so? I don't listen to DG to be rebellious, I listen to it privately and I haven't tried to spread the fact that I do listen to them to a single friend.
From a production standpoint, why should I feel guilty for considering Death Grips ahead of the others? They make music that actually sounds interesting.
