The Shaggs - Philosophy Of The World is such an interesting album. It's so fucking bad it's entertaining. Three girls with zero musical talent or ability make 12 run of the mill pop songs. If the songs had been played by someone with decent playing skills, I would've lowered the score. Because this album is entertaining as fuck, funny (not intentionally) and something everyone should hear. It is one of the biggest failures I've heard in music and it still managed to grab my attention.
The lyrics are so bad they made me laugh various times. And the instrumentation. Let me tell you about the instrumentation. The drummer is ALWAYS OFF BEAT. ALWAYS. The guitar is so badly played, it becomes good. It's so weird it becomes enjoyable, and if it had been played correctly it would've been boring. Sometimes, it actually is musically enjoyable, and not just entertaining in a "laugh at it" kinda way. The guitar and the off beat drums sometimes create discordant sounds that actually feel good to listen.
