Where the fuck are the modern rock bands with Cornell-level vocalists? I stopped listening to a lot of grunge because it was low energy and put me in a depressed kind of mood, but Soundgarden is the exception. Despite having arguably the most morose lyrics, the band remains uplifting purely thanks to the outrageous high energy of Chris Cornell's vocals and Kim Thayil's tasty riffs.
