don't know where that text is from but I've read a different motivation which has to do with speed. Some phones, specially older ones, will take a few seconds to focus and take the picture and snapchat wanted it to be instant on all phones. it's pretty dumb regardless of what their motivation is. >>66337373
what "manual camera controls"? There are none in snapchat beyond the button to "take a picture" (save the viewfinnder). you can't send stored pictures as snaps either. But if you open a chat dialog in snapchat then you can send stored pictures as a chat attachment so that's a way around it.>>66337376
