yeah, i had a feeling it was going to be difficult due to the possibility of dye leaking or being splotchy. i intend to use painters tape to go over the heart area, since its small and more easy to tackle. i'm not super experienced with dyeing so i'm not sure if its even worth it to attempt to dye the sides. >>9904895
using painters tape and the above method anon mentioned was what i was going for, but id obviously have to test it out. a friend of mine mentioned that its possible to use food dye as well, but i'd have to look into the legitimacy of that
i have almost no experience with sewing, so taking it apart would probably do more harm then good, sadly.
either way, i appreciate the responses. if anyone else has any suggestions or experience doing this, please let me know. ive looked across google, youtube, and older forums and found nothing
that being said, the character im cosplaying isnt really popular at all (dont think anyone's ever cosplayed him outside of japan, actually). so i'm wondering if perhaps i'm worrying too much about the color difference? i just don't want it to look tacky (the jacket itself is made of high quality sports material and i do plan on fixing the heart area, etc)
