| >> | No.51743089 >>51742667 I think I've listened to this a couple of times before but this is brilliant. The minimalist arrangements and the vocals work perfect. On top of that, the lyrics are near-perfect too, highly recommended. >>51742686 I've also listened to this a few times but I really like it, the samples mixed with the poppy, dreamy atmosphere are great. I'm also a big fan of Entry Level, Arctic Canopy is one of my favourite Bandcamp releases I've heard this year. >>51742729 This is lovely, the country and folk influences are great and the production of the entire thing is really good. Reminds me an awful lot of Good Old War (which is OK because I like them.) Recommended as well. >>51742750 Listening to Not Sure at the moment, this is cool. The dark atmosphere and dense production sounds a bit like Death Grips. I'd stay away from the default FL drum sounds, but apart from that this is great. Also, the guitar on Deep Inher is awesome. >>51742784 Sounds nice, but I wish there was a little more going on to keep me interested, Most of it is just pleasant piano tracks with some nice organs/synths added. Your playing is very good though. >>51742792 >no link I've listened to this before though, it's cool as fuck. Spazzy. >>51742858 This is certainly interesting. I don't think there's quite enough to keep my attention for the entire track but the drones are cool. >>51742865 Reccing back bb. >>51742915 Also listened to this a few times and loved it. Some of the best stuff to come out of the post-internet scene. Reccing back as well. >>51742944 I see what you mean about the lo-fi recording quality, but there's definitely a lot of potential here. Get yourselves a few more mics and this could become something really good. >>51742954 Not a big fan of emo, but this sounds alright, there's some good instrumentation and the vocals fit in quite well. Recommended. |
| >> | No.51743520 >>51742959 Good recording quality for a live album, but the vocals are mixed a little too low. Forgot the Sunscreen is a great garagey indie rock album as well which I remember listening to earlier this year, recommended. >>51743005 The way the vocals are mixed with the dreamy guitars is awesome, and the way melodies shine through sounds great, reminds me a little of Deerhunter. I'd say the drums are a little too rigid, but apart from that I can't think of many criticisms. >>51743018 Still Ugly is a great indie pop track, sounds like The National is they mellowed out a bit. The vocals/lyrics are brilliant too. The Stop Smoking cover is nice as well (I've never listened to Car Seat Headrest so I wouldn't really be able to judge it.) >>51743026 The layered guitars on this are really cool and the screamed vocals add a nice edge to it. Nothing that incredible but reminds me a little of Kyuss at points. >>51743038 Very good post-hardcore, my only problem would be that the vocals are mixed a little too low, but this is great overall. I can definitely hear the Fugazi influence too. >>51743070 Listened to this loads, heavily recommending. >>51743159 I'll definitely look forward to hearing it! >>51743178 You're welcome buddy :^) >>51743198 The minimal instrumentation on this works really well, and the lyrics are brilliant. A bit like AJJ unplugged, recommended. >>51743233 It's difficult when working with drone/ambient sometimes, I know where you're coming from. >>51743265 未来の音 N I C E V A P O R 波 B U T G E T S A L I T T L E R E P E T I T I V E romanbust.jpg

| >> | No.51747346 >>51747156 and it's going to be pretty hard to overcome those feelings when you've built a shrine to them on the internet.
no one ever really tells you this about getting over someone you were really into, but you kind of have to do it twice. you get over them on the surface, and then you have to do the really fucking shitty hard part where you go into your head and talk to yourself about the fact that you're going to feel like shit as long as you still think about this person. and if that doesn't work you try again a month or two later. you chip away at it. you're not really going to get to that step 2 and feel better about yourself until you reduce the problem down to just the thought-layer, you dig? and in order to do that you need to start with the outer layer. like, shit in the real world (yes, the internet counts as real).
and the thing is, musically, you've got some skill. you should use that to take your mind off her. think about just the music itself. don't make it for her, make it for you. you're a good person, dude, and you've made it this far. don't use your art as another thing to keep yourself down, the world does that enough. |
| >> | No.51747717 >>51747505 what i do when i kind of hit a creative wall is to force myself out of my comfort zone. i know that's like the standard pretentious art cliche but it's pretty true and it does work, in the sense that it'll get your creative juices flowing. what i'll do often is force myself to use a certain sample, or to sample a certain song or youtube video. or i'll challenge myself *not* to do something i usually do - maybe make a whole song without drums, or make a song with a weird time signature, or make something in a BPM i don't normally fuck with, or whatever.
so basically, mess around with throw-away tracks you're not afraid to abandon when you get bored. make something really fast, or super-compressed, or really noisy, or really complex. try manipulating your voice. don't be afraid to break the "rules" of your own music, as it were. |
